Bucket Line Dredger

This plate I made for IHC-Merwede, a big company that realizes big assignments like the making of harbours and other works that have to do with the sea.
The etching was a gift to an Indonesian company to commemorate their hundred-year cooperation.
The machine on the etching is a bucket line dredger used to excavate tin from the seabottom on the coast of an Indonesian island near Sumatra. The photo I ised dated back to 1913. Indonesia was a Dutch colony in those days.

Size: 50 x 30 cm.
